Short stay visit of researchers in INRA-France

When the beneficiaries exchanging procedure was finished, short scientific visit to INRA Institute (new beneficiary) at Clermont Ferrand for researchers from IBNA Institute (Michaela Habeanu and Smaranda Pop) , IAS Institute (Violeta Juskiene) and Research Center FEED-TO-FOOD (Jovanka Levic, Slavica Sredanovic and Djordje Okanovic) was organized and than realized 14-18 November, 2009.
Clermont-Ferrand-Theix Centre represents a strong potential for the INRA Institute, since it employs 9% of total INRA staff and is the 3rd largest of INRA’s 21 Research Centers. Its fields of research are multidisciplinary and its 30 units belong to 13 different research departments. Dr Dominique Bauchard and their colleagues informed us about their research areas and actual projects. They show us many of their chemical laboratories, pilot plants for meat technology and also experimental farms and laboratories where they make trials  with animals.
All of us were impressed with their infrastructure and other possibilities for scientific work. We are very happy by the fact that 3 of our young researchers will spent 2 months each at Scientific visits and training in INRA and that they have opportunity to work with state of the art equipment and collaborate with so experienced researchers. We discussed about their research plans during that visit and confirm technical details. Dr Dominique Bauchard was an excellent host and we spent pleasant time in INRA in exchanging experiences and continue this until late in the evenings by friendly “social events” at his house and in the restaurant during the dinner.
